Grace Bombs and Patreon: An Update

When I started writing about the gospel of grace, I had no idea that this message would go all over the world. I figured I’d get maybe 20-30 subscribers, and that’d be it. But I discovered something: people everywhere are starving for good news. Almost every day I hear from those whose lives have been radically transformed by the good news that their heavenly Father loves them as they are. It’s amazing stuff.

About a year ago I hit a financial hurdle. I prayed about it and the Lord told me to get on Patreon. (Patreon is a crowdfunding thingy where a lot of people give a little each month to help send the gospel all over the world.) I knew this was from the Lord because I had dismissed Patreon as not-for-me, but he said do it and I obeyed.

Again, I underestimated the response. Many of you decided that you wanted to partner with me in this exciting venture and signed up as patrons. I was super-encouraged.

Since that was 12 months ago, I thought you might like to know how patronage has changed things around here:

  • It has kept E2R clean and ad-free, and we’ve had a makeover
  • It has funded the delivery of “grace bombs” – boxes of grace resources – into parts of Africa and Asia
  • It has paid for hundreds of grace books that have been distributed to pastors
  • It has enabled me to hire artists and designers for things like book covers and infographics (because not everyone likes to read)
  • It has helped promote new grace books from up-and-coming authors
  • It has influenced the direction of my writing (I listen to patrons)
  • It has enabled me to write more which means more good stuff for you

And this is just the beginning, the warm-up act. As more people become patrons, you’ll see more and better things going on. I’ve got tons of ideas that are just waiting for a little water and sunshine before they sprout and grow.

“Hey that’s great, Paul. But what does that have to do with me?”

Why not join us? Why not sign up to this adventure of proclaiming the gospel of grace? For less than a Netflix subscription you can become part of a great endeavor that is changing lives all over the world.

“Why would I pay for something I can get for free?”

Everything here is free and always will be. But consider this: If Escape to Reality has been a blessing to you, wouldn’t you like others to experience that blessing as well?

I’m not raising funds for a building or a jet, but to set people free from condemnation and dead religion. The investment payoff is clear: Patrons of Escape to Reality help people discover their Father’s favor. Patrons give this message wings.

“If I sign up, what do I get out of it?”

The satisfaction of being a partner in this gospel, plus immediate access to a lot of patron-only content along with various rewards (e.g., exclusive Q&A sessions, draft chapters of future books, etc). Patronage has its privileges.

“Paul, I believe in what you’re doing and want to help, but I’m not ready to sign up for a monthly commitment.”

I understand. Netflix isn’t for everyone. If you would like to help spread this good news message you can always make a one-off donation via our support page. Every dollar you give goes into promoting the gospel of grace.

If you are a long term reader or if you have been blessed by this blog, I encourage you to become a patron, but if you don’t that’s fine. There’s no guilt here. I’ll keep writing regardless. But if you support my work, I’ll write more and you’ll get more. Patronage is a two-way street.

One more thing: To celebrate one year of good times, every Patron who is signed up by 1 July 2017 will get a coupon code entitling them to a free hardback copy of my award-winning book Stuff Jesus Never Said (excl. shipping). That’s just my way of saying, “Patrons rock!”

Why wait? Sign up today.

I would encourage anyone thinking of doing this to just jump in. This site and the books have been such a blessing to me as I have learnt to walk in the truth of the gospel after being a Christian for almost all my life. I didn’t even realize that I was living a mixed law/grace message. All I knew was that at 62yrs old I was ready to walk away from God beacause It was too hard. Thanks to preachers like Joseph Prince and Paul Ellis I now am in a place of rest in Christ. If you can help one other person, how great is that. Thank you Paul. God’s abundant blessings.

  4. Hi Paul,First off – keep doing what your doing.  Its so good and refreshing hearing the actual good news instead of some news that is said to be good but is actually not that good.Ive been getting fed by your ministry alot over the past year so decided to pledge $5 a month. However there was no coupon code for the “Stuff Jesus never said” book, only the one for the ebooks.  Does it get emailed later? Please adviseThanks!

As a Methodist minister, I’ve been preaching about universal grace for years. E2R has been a joyous find for me! Thank you! A few years ago, I put my spin on what I call the gospel of Revelation into small book form and put it in the Kindle store as “Revelation for Smarties.” It is interesting to me how many folks get upset at removing fear from the last Word in the Bible.

  6. I think it’s great that this is just about giving to spread the gospel. So much manipulation out there in regards to giving. Thank you

There are many good Christian writers, however I personally have not run across a writer that is prolific in explaining the gospel of grace as clearly & simply as Paul Ellis. He has a gift to present the finished work of Christ in many different ways so that it will connect with the simplest of readers (I, for one, being fully qualified to make that statement).

Paul’s writings are exactly what the “performance-driven hearts” of most of the Christian world need to hear; words of freedom, liberty and the love that the gospel truly portrays. Not the sin-conscious, guilt-ridden messages that are so common in the Church today and has been for far too long. Paul Ellis, like the Apostle Paul, delivers the message of God’s grace with the liberty it deserves, and the responsibility it produces. Every Christian whether in the pews or the pulpit needs to read his books & cruise his blogs. He is a man raised up for this season.

That is exactly the reason we were one of the early ones to sign up for monthly support through Patreon, to insure that his writings continue.

  8. We love your work and would like to support you in some way. However, we are English living in France and have sterling and euro accounts only. It is very expensive sending regular dollar payments. Do you either have sterling or euro accounts or can let me have bank account details so that we can make a transfer re Transfer Wise? And NO we are not scammers from a foreign land! Yours Ian & Mary Roberts

  9. I think everyone should sign up, worthy cause. The amount of people that need to hear the gospel of grace now, instead of dead religion. The whole world needs to hear grace; especially as the bombings are escalating in the UK and corporate crime, (Grenfell Tower fire). People are turning from politricks and want answers from God so this is a great time to join up.

Paul, I am so happy to support you in getting this grace message out! You have been such a blessing to me since I found your site just over a year ago. Since then, I have been growing in grace everyday. I had been studying the grace message for so long but couldn’t “get it” if you know what i mean. Paul you have a gift for explaining and teaching the true gospel! Thank you so much!
I do have a question… When I did sign up, I clicked on the link for the free books however it said the code was invalid. Maybe I did something wrong?
Anyway, thanks Paul for all your teachings and many blessings to you and your lovely family!
    Sue

    • Hi Sue, thanks for your feedback and support. I just checked the code and the link and both are working. When you copy and paste the code take care not to add any blank spaces at the beginning or the end. That should fix it. Thanks.
