  1. I just got my books delivered to my front porch on September 14,2012 at noon. I am so excited even though I have already read it once now I can share it. I have it in time for my Grace group bible study.

I grew up in a law based church! Never felt like I deserved any prayers answered due to poor performance on my part! If only I would have read The Gospel in Ten Words at 14…..but God stuck with me and kept his part of his covenant of Grace because of Jesus! This book is wonderful in helping you understand just how Good Abba is….no more performance just receive the promises in His word and enjoy Abba! Thank you Paul it is truly a well written book so well written I didn’t put it down until I finished! I intend to read it again and pass on to others! Buy as gifts and give to others as people still don’t understand Gods Grace and run from him instead of to Him…for tender loving care from a very loving Father! Grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me! Once was lost but now am found…..God Bless You Paul and everyone that reads your first book! Well Done:)

  3. The Gospel In Ten Words is simple and shouts freedom. Only in Paul’s words will you ever find a statement like “Jesus doesn’t do shotgun weddings” (in relation to being scared into believing). Such a heartening read.

  4. Leading a new church called SpiritLife – see open Facebook site. We started off as a body embracing Finished work theology and continue to experience His amazing presence as we preach and teach and allow Holy Spirit to reveal more and more the incredible impact that The Good News brings to the people of the world!
    Blessings,
    Alan

I’ve just finished reading Paul’s book. It took me longer than i thought because i kept wanting to go back to certain passages or chapters and just drink in the almost-too-good-to-be-true message in them. Everything is so clearly explained with really good anecdotes and examples that resonate with everyday life. Can’t thank you enough. There were several places where i laughed out loud when you describe the mess we get into trying to ….well, just trying! But honestly i cried when i finished the book. Happy, happy tears – how outrageously good is His grace.
Paul, please, please will you write a book aimed at unbelievers to help them understand the love story of God through the lens of radical grace? I’d buy shed loads of copies!!
    Heartfelt thanks.

I had the pleasure of being one of the early reviewers of one of the chapters in this book prior to publication. I just finished reading the whole book. I worked through it slowly, roughly a chapter or two each week, giving time to contemplate the message of each chapter. I have loved reading since I was a child, and the past three years I have devoured many books related to Christianity, some of which were part of a 2 year seminary training program. Apart from the Bible, I would venture to say that this book is the best book I have ever read. I found myself realizing that I already believed what was shared in it, but Paul Ellis put it into a more whole and complete perspective that renewed the joy of my salvation. Perhaps what it has going for it the most is the content in general. Truth is its own witness. However, Paul Ellis has a gift for presentation and putting things in terms people can relate to and with analogies they can understand. I think the earthly parallels he frequently connects to the Gospel are instrumental in helping people to grasp how good the Good News really is. I plan to buy many copies to distribute to anyone the Spirit leads me to share them with.

  9. We have started our 10 Word bible study and it went very well. Do you have any
plans for a study guide? I just got the new Kindle Hd and if you get a chance to hear your book read to you, pay attention to how she says Jesus almost like a Sothern Belle. Christianbook.com is now selling your book. Any idea how many you have sold in the U.S. not counting my 21 copies? May God continue to bless you.

    • Hi Janelle,
I just got a new Kindle Paperwhite but I don’t think it talks to me. I would love to hear my book in a Southern accent! I sold just over 2,000 copies in the first 3 months and the US is the largest market.

I have a very simple Study Guide. Here it is: Get people in your group to read a chapter then, when you meet, ask 2 questions:

      1. What in this chapter did you love?
      2. What in this chapter ticked you off?

I guarantee those questions will kick-start plenty of good conversation!

      • Paul Timothy Bondoc // January 26, 2014 at 5:12 pm //

Ps Paul, I would just like to ask,
how could I have a copy of your new book “The Gospel in 20 questions” if I am from the Philippines? 🙂 Thank you

      • Hi Paul,
As you may know, The Gospel in Twenty Questions has only been out a few weeks. We are hopeful that a license to print and distribute copies of the book within the Philippines will be signed very soon. When that happens, it will be at least 3 months before the paperback book becomes available in that market.

If you can’t wait that long, other purchase options can be found on this page.

  10. Paul, I loved the response to the study guide question! It’s amazing how people will take words of freedom and try and make them into yet more bondage. Turning this book into yet another “program” or bible study topic is a great way to kill it.

    • Thanks Paul those were the perfect questions. They are like the Community Bible Experience questions and hearing what speaks out to the people in the our group helps us to share the GRACE message in our every day life.

    • Ed, Paul’s book is the Gospel and our group of ten are trying to take this message to the different churches we attend. Here in the States I have yet to find a New Conenant church in my state. We are all trying to share within our churches without getting the left foot of fellowship. You can’t argue and you try to love them but sometimes you have to just dust off your feet and walk away. I find this journey fun and exciting and when I see ministries changing like Creflo Dollar and Joyce Meyers I see hope the church

  11. Just finished reading your book, but struggle with application. This week, I had a very challenging situation with my teenager and didn’t react to it like I had just read your amazing book on Grace. How easily we forget. This is such a dilemma for me. How do I take all the Joseph Prince sermons, your wonderful book, my Bible readings and apply it to my daily life? I feel like I’m not passing the tests of grace that God allows. Sigh…

    • Hi Jacqueline,
Is there a particular grace scripture that resonates with you at this time? When I was knew to grace it was 2 Cor 5:21. For many weeks I would get up in the morning and remind myself, “I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.” I told myself over and over and it sunk deep into my heart and set me free. I didn’t even know I needed to be free until I was set free!

There is something powerfully liberating about agreeing with God. A book is too much to digest if this is all new to you. Ask God to give you one clear revelation and then chew that and let it nourish you. Doing so will increase your appetite for God and his grace.

      • Jacqueline // January 24, 2013 at 12:51 pm //

This is my new mantra and meditation… “The life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

        Love it! Thanks Paul!

      • Warren (South Carolina, USA) // January 5, 2016 at 6:04 am //

2 Cor 5:21 (see Paul Ellis reply January 17, 2013 at 5:42pm) is perhaps THE best verse in all of scripture that one can meditate, ponder, consider, appropriate into ones self in 21 days that WILL do a “reset”. . . . to allow the rest of God’s Word to come in like a FLOOD.

I wonder if it’s like a “KEY” somehow?

        Great advice Saint Paul.

        Blessings,
        Warren (South Carolina, USA)

  12. Janelle, every time someone says something like that – so-and-so’s book is Gospel – that scares me. While Paul’s words can help us see the freedom in Christ Jesus, Paul himself doesn’t supply that freedom – Jesus does! Paul, like every other good preacher or evangelist, only helps point the way to Jesus. Paul’s words aren’t unique – there have been many others preaching the same message over the years.

The truth of freedom is very often shared heart-to-heart, one person at a time. Some people just aren’t ready for freedom from structure, for a variety of reasons. It’s not their fault, they just aren’t ready to let go and let Jesus take control! It’s sometimes scary to think about walking away from everything you think you know about Jesus in order to embrace Him in a personal embrace, but the rewards are beyond your wildest dreams!

    • Oh Ed I didn’t mean to scare you. I embrace GRACE. I would love to walk away from organized religion and I did that about 10 years ago. When I retired I felt lead to go to a couple different bible studies and this is what is scary to me.
Grandmothers who have been in an organized church all their lives and they say ” I hope I will go to Heaven”. This is what they say to their children and now their grandchildren. They only feel forgiven after they take communion and chances are they will have sinned before they reach their own driveway and they are always under guilt and condemnation.
So now I do my little lessons and throw in a zinger every now and then. I have learned you can’t make waves the ripples have a lot more effect. I say things like “Remember me Lord” What no baptism, confirmation classes, church every time the doors open, or communion? ” I am glad my name is written in the “Lamb’s book of life” and can’t be erased” I can go on and on but I hope you get the idea.
The denominational churches in the USA needs Paul/Sauls Gospel more than anyone and I think that can only be done inside the church.
I have loaned out about 15 of 22 copys of Paul Ellis’s book and so far no one has returned it. I take that as a good sign. God’s word will not return void?
      Isaiah 55:11
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

I am “to blessed to be stressed”. I have such an abundant life and my favorite question to be asked is “How come you are so happy?” Because then my answer is oh let me tell you why.

I sure like the new design of this site but I sure would like to have spell check for these posts.

  13. Amazing book. It will never leave you disappointed but to be amazed by GOD on how His love can transform someone from nothing into something! 🙂

  14. Thanks for your book Paul! I really received a lot from it brother!

  15. Margaret Maistry // February 19, 2013 at 9:05 pm // Reply

Can’t wait to. Read the book

  16. This book is wonderful….just read it last night and all I can think about is saving enough money to buy it for every member of the church we pastor in Parkersburg, WV, USA. Life Changing Truths on the Gospel of Grace. The only Gospel! Thank you so much for writing it!

    • Hi Shelly, thank you for your gracious words. Many readers have had the same reaction as you and in response the publisher has made substantial discounts available on bulk orders. Click here for details.

    • It took a while to get there, but on p. 135 something stood out to challenge me. IN the mean time , it was a rehash of Wayne Jacobs & Joseph Prince and others …. Where’s the beef? Grace for Transformation will produce real fruit. Prayer, fasting, meditation are lightly dismissed as self-effort. Hmmm… does the body of Christ really need more pampering?

      • Surely it’s not prayer, fasting and meditation that are being dismissed, it’s doing them to think we can earn ‘brownie points’ with God. It’s not the doing of them that’s wrong, it’s why we do them. Prayer, fasting and meditation that flow out of a heart of gratitude to God for his grace are not self-effort.

  17. Have read the book at least 3 times now and recommended it to friends, some of whom downloaded the free electronic copy. They all love it! Have just received the 10 copies I ordered from Amazon (I’m in the UK) ready to give out for Easter, including one for the vicar! Thanks Paul for pointing us in the right direction and reminding us that it’s all about Jesus and not about us. So many Christians seem to make the Christian life into a sin management programme rather than a celebration of grace.

    • Hi Susanna, thanks for your encouraging feedback. I am delighted that you are buying copies of The Gospel in Ten Words to give away. I am dismayed that you are paying the full Amazon price. Next time, get your books direct from the publisher and you’ll get a hefty discount (depending on the size of your order). It means more books for your buck! Thanks again, and do let us know what the vicar thinks of the book.

      • Joe Castillo // October 8, 2014 at 7:39 am //

        Paul,
Thanks. after my reading the sample chapter of your book, I want to see Jesus more, and i pray to the father to give me a wisdom like you Paul. You really illustrated the love of God for us that keeps my spirit alive. I will buy that book. Its a revelation of Grace and Truth brother! God blessed you more!

  18. It’s not cheaper Paul – the publisher’s UK price is £8.99 per copy plus shipping for 10 copies. Amazon.co.uk costs £8.90 with no shipping. I’d already looked into it.

  19. Love, love, love This book!!

  20. Hi Paul Love your book.I am on page36 . Please explain forgiveness does not equal salvation. I am a new beleaver in Christ

  21. This book is one of the greatest. It’s so good you don’t want to come to the end of it. I’m at No 6. Sometimes I can only read a few sentences and I have to just stop reading and start contemplating on the Greatness and Goodness of God.

This book is quite an easy read and quite funny at times but the funny bits are still relevant to the message and contain a mini punch. Nice One!

  22. This book has reawakened in me the joy I first had at salvation. I didn’t realize how easy it is to drift from grace. I am so thankful to Paul who by the guiding of The Holy Spirit reminds us of the simplicity of loving God and how much The Lord loves us!

  23. Paul, just ordered your book!

  24. Ok just got the 3 books I ordered and was shocked when your book was not in there! When I was placing my order they gave me several options and I must have picked the one which didn’t have your in it:( I got 2 Andrew Farley and 1 Steve McVey……. Will try again after I read these. Blessings.

  25. Hi Paul, I was just wondering how many books have you sold so far? I was also wondering if you could take a survey of your reader’s favorite chapter then offer that chapter for free on your Free Stuff page. I realized I can’t buy this book for everyone I know but I think if everyone just read chapter 9 they might want to purchase the book for themselves. When I tell people “Who AM I?” and tell them the proof is in THE BOOK It leads to some great disscussions.

  26. Paul I can’t believe that I waited a year before I got your book. Youre writting is so easy to understand and so straight forward, even children can understand how great a gift Jesus gave to us.Thanks again, I entend to share it with all that will listen.

  27. Paul: I just recently got your book from Amazon and so far as chapter 2. Your description of 1John1:9 (in context with the rest of the chapter) finally makes sense to me for the first time in my walk. I started to understand Grace since 2009 and this verse always troubled me to some degree. I enjoy all your posts and am looking forward to the rest of the book!

  28. Is there a way to buy in bulk? I thought I had seen an email or post about it, but cannot find it.

  29. Was blessed to get a review copy of Twenty Questions. The first question, ‘who’s your daddy?’ is so profound and I am going to read some extracts to my ladies; group this afternoon as we look at the second half of John 5, Jesus revealing the Father. I’ve already given them all a copy of Ten Words and we read that together earlier this year. Lots of people have been truly blessed by your first book, Paul and I can see the second will be just as powerful. Thank you!!

Wow! This book is on my top five that I suggest to anyone who has questions about the Gospel. Man I wish I had read this book 30 years ago! I’m currently reading your second book and enjoy it so much. I have noticed that your book has been translated in many languages. Is there a french version yet or in progress?
    Thanks and God bless,
    Pierre

    • Thanks for your kind words Pierre. Yes, there is a French version in progress. If you wish, you can send me a FB message and I will hook you up with the translator.

  32. I bought The Gospel in 20 Questions pdf – how will I receive it?

    • Hi Jim,
I presume you bought it from Gumroad. You should receive an automatic email from them with a unique download link. If you haven’t received it, check your spam folder. If it’s not there, let me know. Thanks.

  33. Please Paul help me, I want to receive some of your books. Im not very privileged to be able to read it in ebook format,so how do I order an old fashioned hardcover edition? What will it cost me?

    • You can find all my books on many online booksellers, including Amazon. If you live outside of the US, then the Book Depository is a good option as they do free shipping worldwide.

  34. Hi Paul how are you? I’m Gamachu from Ethiopia. Please how I can get your books in Ethiopia? in our country almost all there is no church that preach pure grace. But I became to this idea by reading other grace preachers books

  35. Paul, I have read “ten words” “twenty questions” and “hypergrace” and still want more grace talk! Your suggestion for reading scripture through the lens of the finished work of the cross has freed me from twenty years of confusion and thinking that I needed seminary just to be a Christian. My church is instituting accountability triads, you know, committing to meeting an hour each week with two others to confess sins and pray. So thankful I found E2R. I now see the futility of all that religious baggage, and I feel free and confident to just say NO.

At the end of your book, twenty questions, you mention small group study materials, but I didn’t find anything specific on your web site. Is there a link or book or something?
Thanks for sharing your gift of wisdom and the undiluted gospel of grace!
    Geraldine

    • Hi Geraldine, I’m not sure exactly what you may be referring to, but on p.221 of Twenty Questions I do have this:

You may ask, “Will there be a study guide or discussion guide to go with this book?” The Gospel in Twenty Questions is eminently suited to small-group discussion, but as for a study guide, there won’t be one. I’m not a fan of them. Instead, I recommend a discussion strategy I learned from Wayne Jacobsen. Get everyone in your group to read the same chapter, then, when you meet, ask two questions: (1) What did you like about this chapter? (2) What ticked you off? Good discussion is sure to follow.

  36. helo Paul,am based in Uganda and i would like to be receiving some of your books to inspire me, how do i do ti?

I am loving “The Gospel in Ten Words”! If I could highlight every page it would liook like a kaleidoscope. God has been so faithful this year to turn my misguided religious foolishness into a testimony of saving grace. NOW I am “saved”, in the sense of truly understanding what saved meant, finally! Thank you for your servant heart to bring the Word to life as the gospel was meant to be. God’s blessings to you and your family.

    • Thank you, Heather. I’m delighted you’re enjoying the book and have gotten a revelation of God’s awesome grace.

      • Mr. Ellis, sir: To say that I was impressed with your book, “The Gospel in Ten Words” is an understatement! But this is not the primary reason why I messaged you. Rather, I want confirmation from you about what I have understood to be the most outstanding feature of this book. I think that you have pretty much covered all the bases regarding presenting the fullness of the gospel of grace in this book, right? (Albeit in a concise form but so much all-encompassing that I have suddenly lost the desire to read other books from other grace authors after having gone through this book the first time!)

  38. Paul I meant to tell you, what a perfect name for a blog. Colossians 217 the end of it is a perfect life verse!
Reality is found in Jesus! There is nothing more real and it also tells you what’s not real. The law of religion simply revealed a brighter light of reality that was to come and is now here! Jesus!

  39. I am awe struck by your first chapter in “10 words”. I’m rereading it. Love is really the only thing you could start with. My heart is drawn to his overpowering love. I read some of the reviews on Amazon. I truly don’t understand anyone having a heart for Jesus and saying some of the negative comments that I’ve read. Just by reading the first chapter they should be totally absolutely blown away in reveling in His love.

  47. thank you God for Giving us such a wonderful man…
thank you for using him to Impart to other people about Your wonderful Grace…
    🙂

  48. Thank you, Paul, for penning the “Gospel In 10 Words”. I just finished reading it and all I can say is WOW!. Your clarity helped me define who I really am in Christ Jesus, our Lord, and Savior. As you so aptly stated in the book, “Jesus is Grace”. And since He lives within us by the Holy Spirit, we are grace as well. “As He is, so are we in this world”. Your poem was so amazing that I typed it out on my computer [since I was reading the book via the Kindle app for computer], printed it and read it every single day at breakfast as a reminder of who and what I am, through the boundless, limitless, immeasurable grace of God. I do believe that my next read will be “Hyper-Grace Gospel” and will look most forward to that knowing it will assist me in my daily walk as “the disciple Jesus loves”. Thanks again so very much, Paul.

  49. awesome got all your books they bless me soooooooo much thank you a zillion

  50. Hi Paul,

I’m looking to buy a Christmas gift for someone. Out of your favorite books on grace, can you name off a few that are easy reads?

    • I recommend Stuff Jesus Never Said for three reasons: (1) it’s written for the widest-possible audience, (2) it’ll ship faster than any other book (especially if you’re located in the US), and (3) you can get bonus books to give away if you order from the SJNS website. If you want a meatier book, I’d go for The Gospel in Ten Words. Happy Christmas!

      • Thanks Paul! I ordered both through Amazon (free shipping with Prime!)

      • Hi Paul, I just finished reading The Gospel in Ten Words. Excellent stuff. Greatest line in the book (and possibly any book!)- “If you’re wondering why God is not pleased with your sacrifices, maybe it’s because you are not pleased with His.”
I’m still trying to take that one in.
