The Normal Christian Life

“God’s requirements have not altered, but we are not the ones to meet them. Praise God, he is the Lawgiver on the Throne, and he is the Lawkeeper in my heart. He who gave the Law, himself keeps it.” So says Watchman Nee in The Normal Christian Life (p.166). This just may be the world’s most famous book on grace! If you haven’t read it, chances are you’ve heard of it.

The Normal Christian Life, is as relevant today as when Nee wrote it back in the 1950s. The first nine chapters lay a solid grace foundation for the rest of the book. If you want a taste, see my selection of quotes here.

Apparently several people have made unformatted copies of The Normal Christian Life and put them on the web. Perhaps the copyright expired – it is an old book. If you can’t afford to buy the book from Amazon, you can get pdf versions of The Normal Christian Life from here and here.

  9. i just go the normal christian life.thanks a lot

  10. Wow, the fathers love really got me again.
Paul, I really have a problem interpreting some stuff through this revelation of the fathers love.
(Handing someone over to satan, letters to the churches in revelation, the judgement of god in hebrews 10 (or is it 11).

I am a father since last week now – jippieh – and I am not a better father than he is, I would not hand my son over to satan?

And this scriptures always seem to make the “too good to be true gospel” appear not that good.

    • Tobi, congrats on becoming a father! I guarantee you, you’re going to see everything differently now! Rest assured the Father loves us even more than you love your own child. Regarding the Revelation churches, I have written a few posts which can be found in the archives. I have also written on Hebrews 10.

  11. Started the Derek Prince book. Thank you for transcribing(?) this sermon.
The two german words on page 18. are written “Krankheit” which means sickness and “Schmerz”(pain) – if you want to correct it.

    You have readers in germany!

    Thank you.

    • Thanks Tobi. One of these days I’ll get around to fixing that. It’s not a small job. I had a computer malfunction about 6 months ago and lost a bunch of files including my original Word document of that book.

    Wow! Who doesn’t like free?

  13. Thank you for offering this for free, usually I buy books often, but now we have been hit by a financial drain, and I need to wait before I can purchase anymore books. It feels wonderful when I can receive christian base knowledge and blessings for free when I am in such crisis, rather than being stuck or left out when the rule is to give this certain amount of money and I will give you this or you will receive God’s blessing one hundred fold or some miracle if you plant this seed in this amount and no less. Yes, I believe in planting seeds, but not being left out when financial lack has occurred. When this situation happens, any person who’s mind is cluttered with problems and just do not remember or know the word of God, will just sink and sometimes to no return. Thanks for your consideration, you have most definitely been a tremendous help for us in this time. Also, thank to a friend who recommended your book.

  14. can i print this out and get a copy printed at the sationary store and send it to my friend. she doesn’t have access to internet because she live out in the country and her access is intermintent. ?

    • Certainly. Although I suspect most people would opt to read these on ebook readers, if you have a recent version of Adobe Reader you should have no problems printing any of these books. Just save the pdf file first (meaning, don’t try and print it from your browser window) and then open the file you have saved in Adobe Reader.

  15. I went to print this out and it was messed up. it wasn’t in numerial order and it was too small of print and ant could hardly read it. Look , you said it was a free book, why would you make it so screwed up, if you want to have it cost money then charge money instead of us waisting our ink and paper on a hopeless case.

    • Which book Lori? You should note that I own the copyright of none of these books and couldn’t sell them even if I wanted. Also, all of them, except the first, are available for sale on Amazon.

  16. thanks for the free books brother and grace and peace to you and all belong to ya’s.

In time past when I hear the word of God from preacher I was left with nothing but guilt and condemnation over and over again even after I got saved and they called it “a contrite heart” but since I started listening to Past Prince I have been liberated from this debacle to my growth in faith! Hallelujah!! I know look forward to hearing the word of God and have a strong disdain for sin! I am truly free!!

  18. What a great teacher! And thanks for the link. I also thank you for the ‘Divine exchange!’ I was browsing for it for the past few days, and couldn’t believe my eyes when you offered it. I feel so rich! Amorie van Straaten

  19. Thanks for this freebies.I downloaded them and they have been blessing my soul. Thanks a lot.

  20. I think you are a greater teacher. Coincidence that your name is Paul? lool. i thank God for directing me to this blog. Hope I can re-blog this on my blog…

  21. purchased grace the forbidden gospel but am saddened that the author has decided to reject Jesus and Christianity…

  22. I thank you for making this book available to everybody, especially to believers. It tells the truth of what Jesus has done for us all, and the choice lies with an individual for time is running out and if one has no relationship with Christ, it is a scary thing. He gave up His life in exchange of all our sins so that we can live for HIM. It is a gift that surpasses every gift that one dream of, Eternal Life. Thank God for Derek Prince

May the good Lord who is our senior brother and Father whom you have open my see to see and know blessed you richly you r indded a blessing. Thanks a million

  24. Hi Paul, i have all your books on my tablet and the “HYPER GRACE” is a winner of note. You were gracious in “straightening” Dr Brown out and it puzzles me that intelligent people can miss the Grace in Gods word.

I don’t know what the 7th day Adventist think when the word of God says in HEBREWS for instance, that the Law is obsolete. Anyway, i thank God for a grace Minister such as yourself and you are right up there with the likes of Joseph Prince.
Thank you PAUL and God continue to bless you and your family
    Shalom

  25. Thanks yo!

Hi Paul, Got myself into trouble recently by trying to defend this Grace message before I was ready. My mistake was asserting that the second part of Rom 8:1 is not in the original but lifted and inserted from vs 4. Was unable to prove this and thought I had read this in one of your articles, but can’t seem to find it in any that I have looked at. Do you have anything you have written that I can go through, or refer me to someone who has? It maybe that I’m way off beam here, so anything you can suggest is welcome. Cheers. Peter

    • Hi Peter, I don’t remember reading about it on P. Ellis books, but I’m sure I read about that on one of Joseph Prince books, just not sure if it was on Destined to reign or Unmerited favor.
I have a spanish Bible, Reina-Valera 1960, and there is a special note that says that the second part was inserted later.

      • Sorry for not replying Peter – your comment got lost in the mix. I don’t have a strong opinion about it one way or another. If it was inserted or if it’s the original it means the same thing to me. Let me explain, in Christ there is no condemnation. Period. That’s the gospel truth as preached by Jesus (John 3:17-18). Yet many Christians are living under self-inflicted condemnation because they have not had their hearts established in his righteousness. They’ve been sold a mixed-up gospel and as a result they are striving to earn what grace freely gives them. They’re in the spirit (ie: saved) but they are not walking in the spirit. They are walking after the old ways of the flesh. Where does this condemnation come from? It comes from the law, their shipwrecked consciences, and the disapproval of the self-righteous.

  28. Thanks for making this Derek Prince book available online Paul – printed beautifully. Brian, London

  29. Thank you!

  30. Hi Paul, I was trying to download ‘Administering The Children’s Bread’ and I keep getting to a domain selling site. I’m thinking it’s down?

    God bless you.

  35. I put a comment on the other page .asking where I could get “GRACE PACK” Please send this to me, I have read all your other books, I have learned from them ,& what you say is so-the way I think. I thank you for writing what GOD wants us to read & hear.

  36. I am having some issues. I went to subscribe last night, it said it was sent to me. Nothing. I thought maybe something was up so I waited until morning, still nothing so I tried again, this time clicking the button that says if I’m having trouble to click, but when I did all that stuff it said had no memory of me signing up to begin with. Rinse and repeat from the beginning and still nothing. I’ve also checked spam. Is it because I am using gmail or am I just overlooking something obvious? Anyone else have these issues?

  37. Sorry for the late reply. I did everything that page said, and still nothing. Should I try entering a different email address?

    • You could try that, but first I would try with your existing email address. WP sends you a new confirmation email each time you sign up.

      • Okay, I’ll try a few more times with this one and maybe a couple of others. If this is the last you hear from me just assume it worked at some points. Thanks for the time.

  38. sadly I think the free grace pack option is either broken or possibly discontinued. I have tried with two private domain email accounts, one gmail and one hotmail. I got the WP subscription confirmation on two out of the four but have never received the link to the grace pack. I watched the spam folders like a hawk. on of the domains I manage and control everything that gets blocked. is it possible paul for you to send me a private link if it’s still available? seeing the Father as my Abba and not just loving Jesus alone started a year and a half ago for me. Has really changed things. Excited to read about Who’s your Daddy. 🙂

    • Sorry to hear that Blake. We give away about 50 of these a week and I haven’t heard of any other issues lately. It’s strange that you got the confirmation email but not the links, because the links are in that email. (And they are still there, I just checked.) Have you tried the tips on this link?
