Bad News, Good News, Thank Yous

In my last email, I promised E2R subscribers a special Christmas treat. I said I had “a little project” I was working on.

Well, I have bad news and good news.

The bad news is I didn’t get it finished in time. This has been a huge year of writing and about a week ago I hit the wall. I had nothing left in the tank. Instead of beating myself up about it, we went away on a family weekend to here…

It was a lovely break. I played games with the kids, I went for a walk with Camilla, and we watched the cricket. I’m feeling much refreshed, thanks for asking.

The good news is you’re not going home empty handed. To make up for the other thing, I am giving away, this week only, my study note Spirit, Soul & Body: How to Walk In the Spirit. In this note I ask questions like: What is your spirit and what does it do? How does your spirit relate to your soul? How do we walk in the spirit? How do we test the spirits? How does the conscience relate to the spirit? And more.

Normally my study notes are only available to patrons. But it’s Christmas, so here you go.

Speaking of patrons, I would like to close this year by personally thanking my monthly supporters. Without the generosity of these wonderful people, there would be no Grace Commentary, no Grace Bible, and no Escape to Reality. On behalf of all my readers, I would like to give huge Christmas “thank you” to:

    Paul:

Please do not call it bad news because we know how hard you are working and appreciate what you do get out each year. I cannot tell you how much of a blessing to my life and my family’s life Escape to Reality has been. Needless to say behind every great man is a great woman so your wife has blessed us too! Please take additional rest around Christmas with your family and forget about deadlines and goals for a few days. You have educated me in understanding rest through the Lord so I am sending that message your way on behalf of everybody who supports your ministry. Love to you and family and Merry Christmas dear friend.

  7. No need to excuse yourself Paul. Good that you know that “hitting the wall” is not solved by pushing on – a holiday is the solution. Have a Blessed Christmas Christmas Paul, Camilla and family – and a Prosperous New Year from our Abba.

Hi Paul,Thank you for your book

  10. My friends and I have been under Grace for 40 years. I found you when I was looking up stuff on James who needs special deep attention. The name of your website escape to reality intrigued me. I love it. And I printed out your whole James thing and wouldn’t study James with newer Christians without the handout. it’s really good and helpful. 40 years ago, we listened to Bob George. He was the only one preaching law and grace, and it drew us together all this time. I hope you have heard of him or listened to him.

Our group is black belt grace. On the phone texting, we used your book of Galatians for background referencing. so far I haven’t heard any legalism. We don’t usually use books because we just go straight to the word, but yours is very enjoyable and we quote some of your insights.

I think your Bible is gonna do well. I’d like to see it in the prisons. I may try to donate it. I kind of know how because I was in Prison Ministry for a while. they really need it. Anyway, I just wanted you to know how much we appreciate your work and how much we agree with your Grace message. It’s important. It’s everything. It’s what we are here to learn.

  11. Thank you so much for this practical and accurate resource study note ‘Spirit, Soul & Body: How to Walk In the Spirit’. I loved reading it. There is just one element I would add for those of us brought up in religion and enslaved by it, for the majority of our lives and that is the practice of meditation. About three years ago I got to find out whether my ‘house’ was built on sand or The Rock. It was a life threatening situation and for the first time in my life I threw myself into meditating on The Word daily… Among the many things it produced, was a release from reading words like ‘Spirit’ (which I’d been indoctrinated in since birth, and which as a result became meaningless) and revealed to me a whole new non-material world inside the temple (it’s the best short hand description I have). I make this point because if you readers include religiously indoctrinated folk like me, for whom terms like ‘Spirit, Soul and Body’ are so familiar, they’ve lost meaning, then I strongly urge the reader to take your study note ‘Spirit, Soul & Body: How to Walk In the Spirit’ and dedicate real meditation time to it. I wish I could say more, but after over 40 years of Christian life, meditating on your resources opened a whole new world I didn’t know existed. Thank you!

  12. I love your content Paul and like to share it sound the world.

Thanks for sharing your hard work with everyone.
