What the Bible Says About Your Children (And How Religion Gets It Wrong)
10 Biblical Truths Every Parent Should Know

One of the worst things we can do for our children is repeat the lies that religion has taught us.
Manmade religion says that our children are born bad to the bone and repulsive to a God who supposedly loves them.
Religion tells our kids that if they follow the rules, obey their leaders, and deny their God-given dreams and desires, he may save them from an eternity in hell.
What nonsense.
How much better if we teach our children about the One who loves them no matter what color or shape they are or whether they are good or bad or whether they excel at school or spend years in detention.
How much better if we help them discover and cultivate the incredible gifts an amazing Creator has hidden inside them.
How much better if we reveal a heavenly Father who is pleased to bits with them and who wants nothing more than for them to experience his love and share his amazing grace with others.
One of the greatest gifts we can give our children is a better picture of God. Our children don’t need to be taught that they are born bad. They need to be shown that they are deeply loved and wonderfully made.
Great expectations based on God’s great promises
Your children will rise no higher than your expectations of them, so have great expectations. Be convinced that God knew what he was doing when he entrusted them to you.
Don’t fall for the lies of manmade religion but declares the good promises of God over your children.
Your children…
- were shaped by God (Job 33:4, Ps. 100:3, Ecc. 11:5)
- were fearfully and wonderfully made (Ps. 139:14)
- were known to God before they were born (Ps. 139:15–16, Jer. 1:5)
- are known to God now (Matt. 18:10)
- are gifts from God (Ps. 127:3, Jas. 1:17)
- are arrows in the hand of a warrior (Ps. 127:4)
- are blessed and not born for calamity (Is. 65:23)
- are watched over by God (Ps. 32:8, 121:8)
- are defended by God (Is. 49:25)
- are a crown in your old age (Pro. 17:6)
If your family has been touched by tragedy and loss, have no doubt that your baby is with the One who said “The kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
And if your teenagers have strayed from the path, pray with the confidence that God knows exactly where they are and he loves them even more than you do.
In this world there are some who seek to harm our children. But greater is he who made us and watches over our children than he that is in the world.
