Joseph Prince: Preacher of Grace
So the Americans have finally discovered Joseph Prince.
A few weeks ago Charisma magazine published an interesting article on the Singaporean preacher entitled “Prince of Grace.” The article describes the growing impact of Prince’s grace preaching, particularly in the US television market.
I don’t live in the States, but I imagine Prince stands out from the crowd of TV preachers. He’s apolitical, never asks for money, and preaches nothing but the grace of God revealed in Christ alone.
In the Charisma article, Prince recounts a life-changing experience he had back in 2000. He was visiting Canada when he turned on the TV and saw a minister preaching hellfire and brimstone.
He asked God, “Why do you allow ministers like that on television?”
He heard the Lord reply, “It is because ministers like you don’t want to be on television.”
Seven years later and Joseph Prince Ministries started beaming onto our TV screens.
If you haven’t heard him preach, you’re missing out. Joseph Prince is an amazing preacher of the gospel of grace. Listen to him and you will come away with a fresh revelation of the goodness of God, the majesty of Jesus, and the perfectly complete work of the cross.
I posted some of my favorite Joseph Prince quotes here a few months ago, but below are 20 of his all-time best exclusively on the subject of grace. None of these have appeared on E2R before. I’ve taken these 20 pearls of wisdom from three sources; Prince’s two books Destined to Reign (DTR) and Unmerited Favor (UF), plus the Charisma article mentioned earlier. Enjoy!

Mr Prince is a huge deception. Grace has always been how Christians are saved, this was always the only way. Grace is nothing new. Prince’s teaching that Christians don’t have to follow 10 Commandments is what is sad.
Simply put: John 14:15 ‘IF you love me, keep my Commandments’.
Prince is an evil fraud.
Anthony, you’d better hope Mr Prince is preaching a true message because if we’re still under law, as you suggest, you have just broken the 8th commandment which is punishable by death (Ex 20:19). You’ve just done one of the six things the Lord hates (Prov 6:19). Jesus is not preaching law-based obedience in John 14:15.
Praise the Lord! Brother Paul Ellis truly understand how BADLY we miss the perfection of the 10 commandments and event the over 600 Levitical laws. I would have ZERO hope myself, if I didn’t understand the Gospel of Grace as Paul and Pastor Prince teach it. AND I HAVEN’T EVEN ARRIVED YET! Because MANY DAYS I’m STILL, STUPIDLY, ALLOWING MYSELF TO FALL BACK UNDER THE LAW AND CONDEMANTION AND I’m allowing myself to get into self examination of my performance. And I’m just like Pastor Prince. I believe in right living. But I believe in that right living coming through right believing. Not trying to force this ‘fake right living’ through phony observance of the Law, like many Christians want to do. The Gospel of Grace is so liberating and wonderful, when you understand. It took me many years just to understand the foundational aspects of this wonderful Gospel from Jesus.
Hey Brother Hernandez…so you are going to lie to everyone and tell people that you can perfectly keep or have perfectly kept all 10 Commandments? Who can even keep the first one? Who on earth thinks about the Lord 24hrs a day, 7 days a week and every second of every day? Pastor Prince teaches the Gospel of Grace like Paul did. Which is why he gets hammered. People are so self righteous, thinking they can keep every law and ordinance the Lord gives them, that they are so deceived into thinking that the Lord wants a legalistic, law abiding and regulation keeping relation ship. Is that what you want with your own children, Brother Hernandez? Or maybe, just maybe you are still too arrogant, as I once was, that maybe you don’t understand what it means to have the undeserved and unearned favor of God operating in your life? Paul was slammed for how radically he peached the Gospel of Grace. And so is Pastor Prince. I now have close to 300 of Pastor Prince’s sermons. I know what he preaches. I am secure saying that you have never invested the kind of money that I have into Pastor Prince, to determine if he is inconsistent with what he preaches. He most certainly is consistent.

A word for all grace lovers. Beloved, let me ask you?
Does it take any grace to eat food? Of course not. But it does take a lot of grace to fast.
Does it take any grace to read to watch TV? Of course not. But it takes grace to spend time in prayer.
The key to grace is in pleasure. Love for God produces pleasure for the things of God. I fast because God has given me the grace to go deeper in my love with Him. It’s a joy to fast and pray and when I do – my heart opens up to His graces. When I choose to close myself off from prayer and fasting – I am closing myself off from some of the greatest graces God has given me to enjoy him. So then….all grace lovers – let us come to the table of wholeheartedness. That is radical grace – the grace to fully embrace the deeper things of God! Radical grace in the end times will be a grace living with wholeheartedness – with fasting and praying.

It takes grace to eat, watch tv even sleep. U could be as well blind , maybe then you will cherish the grace to see. I have not purchased any of Joseph Prince’s books. However, I have read an excerpt online to get a sense of what he is saying about fasting, and I am not comfortable with what I read. I must say that I have been fasting for years and I have seen God move “miraculously” in several situations. I believe that is is an under utilized spiritual weapon that should not be overlooked by the Christian community, or be taught in such a manner that it is “unnecessary”. From what I have read in the review of the book, I am not comfortable with Prince’s teaching on fasting. I have studied fasting in depth in the past. I will continue to fast and prayer, and urge others to do so.

Are you suggesting that God moved “miraculously” in several situations because you had been fasting for years? Is it correct for me to say that God could not move “miraculously” if you did not fast? As if to say that God’s action is dependent or controlled by your action? And you want to encourage others to fast and pray so that God can move, shall I say, so much more?
God has already move! The only action we need to do is to labor to enter His rest – to trust that it is done not because we are faithful but because He is faithful.
He has given us heaven’s best by sending Jesus Christ for us, there is no reason why He will not freely give us all things (Ro8:32). All we need to do is confess (agree with God) and declare (proclaim) what He has done through the finished work of Christ, whether it is about salvation, health or wealth.
I just would like to make a brief comment on a couple of others relative to fasting. The only time that Jesus mentions fasting is to exorcize strong demons; I do not read that fasting became, for example, what the Last Supper becoming Holy Communion. Now as to the reply. I take issue with the word “labor”. When you come to Jesus and ACCEPT His Finished Work and make yourself totally available to all that His is committed to be available to you. There is NO labor after the Cross; there is only rest, peace, and the miracle that is Jesus and His now your Father. It is necessary to understand this sentence: all there is of me, cannot do anything. We are dead, on the wrong side of Jordan, on the wrong side of the Cross. But AT the Cross, all there is in Jesus, is constantly, ever more abundantly available to all there is of me as I reckon that all there is of me is alive and moves and has being with Him. I can’t; Jesus says, “you never could”; then Jesus says, “All there is of me is completely available to all there is of you. So you can’t but He can, that’s is really all we need to know. That is right believing and right believing brings right living—NOT THE OTHER WAY ROUND!
Just another comment on fasting to get God’s blessing. Galatians 2, if righteousness (right believing, unmerited favor, healing, blessing, God’s supernatural works) depends on our works (fasting, rubbing beads, holding church suppers), the Christ died in vain (or simple translation: Christ’s death means NOTHING). Now is that the message you are trying to convince everybody? If so, how quickly we are deceived.
my understanding of fasting under the new covenant is that it is for our edification and the renewing of our minds… we fast only when we are led to by the Holy Spirit- and by the power of the Holy Spirit…to quiet the cravings of the flesh, so that we are even more dependent on and receptive to the Holy Spirit’s promptings. we fast ‘intuitively’ when we are deeply immersed in the study of God’s Word, in prayer, in worship… fasting as a sacrifice/’work’ cannot earn us a blessing or even defeat the flesh (it only feeds the flesh more!) fasting would have to be the ‘fruit’ of abiding in Christ in order for it to have any power

Do we not have all that Jesus has as a born-again, filled with the Spirit Believer? How can I labor for something I already have? Bible interprets Bible all the time within the correct context and some times audience. Hebrews is to the Hebrews, where striving, laboring, sacrificing, were common and required of their Law; but when God gave the Law to Moses 3000 people died; now comes Jesus bringing Grace and on that day when He speaks of it 3000 are saved. The blood thread of Jesus is found in every book of the OT and can be marked as “dots”; then it is for us to connect the dots. When Jesus was beat beyond a man, He takes my sickness, my diseases–all of which come from the dark side–and by His strips I am healed; Jesus bore all my sins, past, present and future, where God has promised that He cannot remember them. And the ONLY time that Jesus calls the Father, God, is on the cross at the moment God must turn His back on Him and unleash His anger breaking the stone Law and bringing us the New Covenant: the Blood of Christ Himself.
Pst. Joseph Prince, never said against fasting, but against self righteousness of using fasting like the pharisees, taking God for a ransom by the fasting, demanding a reward out of fasting, now this is wrong. But if you fast out of the sense of love, that you enjoy it, then it is absolutely fine.
Your comment brought me to tears. I have been asking God to lead me into prayer and fasting, but now I see how Grace is the key…thank you for sharing.

I have not heard JP preach on either of these topics in any depth. Neither fasting nor tithing is discussed in any detail in either of his books (unless I missed something).
I started watching J. P. early this year (yes, I’m an American), I guess around Feb. and it has changed me SO much! I have been a Christian since I was a child (now 35) and been through tons of Sunday school, sermons, Bible studies, etc., but I NEVER heard the FULL GOSPEL preached until I heard his sermons, which I thank GOD for! (by the way, I have always gone to “full gospel” churches, lol!) I only get him on TBN at 5:30 AM, and I don’t get up that early, but thank God for the cable DVR!!! I have it set to record and just watch them when I can, usually I get to watch one while I’m eating breakfast. I am also glad I can share the complete gospel and grace of God with my kids so that they will be blessed even more than I have been all my life and live free from condemnation and full of the favor of God! He also has some great teaching on other subjects, such as praying in tongues, communion, the power of our words and more… I am not trying to put him on a pedestal, I just thank God for teaching me, but he had to willing to be used and right now he’s my favorite preacher/teacher! I hope and pray our American preachers will also learn to preach grace radically.

Hi Paul! Pastor Prince has done a total of 5 sermons on tithing in the last 10 years and they are available in the online store. As far as I know, Pastor has not yet done a whole sermon on fasting, although he has said time and again to follow the Lord on such matters and if led to do so, go ahead. Link for tithing sermons.

Prince teaches that the tithe is based on Abraham meeting Melchesadek, who, as a type of Christ, brought wine and bread. Abraham give him a tenth of everything he possessed. Offerings come from either God speaking to you or you decide. Remember, the tithe was given BEFORE the Law. He will also tell you that your tithe belongs to your local church; anything you give to New Creation or JP Ministries are offerings–as Paul carried the offerings of the northern churches when Jerusalem was in trouble.
Abram gave no such tithe “of everything he owned.” He gave a tithe on spoils of war in which he gave 90% back to the wicked king of Sodom. Tithing was never about money. Tithing to a ruler or a king was custom during Abrams day, much like paying income taxes is today. He was merely doing what was required according to the custom of the era. Jacob came along and made a vow to God that if God would do certain things, God would be his God and he would give Him the tithe (as opposed to giving it to pagan rulers/kings). When the children of Israel (Jacob) came out of Egypt, God “made good” on the “bargain” Jacob made years before, and made tithing part of the Law. When Jesus came, He declared the “favorable year of the Lord” (the Jubilee) – all debts are forgiven, all things are restored, the captives are set free, and the workers and fields rest from working their crops. Since we are in God’s age of grace (jubilee) there is no tithing in this New Covenant. Hebrews 7 states that Levi had a command under the Law to collect tithes. In vs. 18 it says that the commandment has been made null and void.
Back to Abram – tithing was not the sign of the covenant, circumcision was. Paul said twice in Galatians the circumcision or uncircumcision MEANS NOTHING in this New Covenant of Grace! The New Covenant began when Jesus died and rose again. Hebrews 12:24 – Jesus is the mediator of the New Covenant – nothing else. The mediator of the old covenant – Moses & Levi – are dead. There is no mediator for anything before the New Covenant.
Paul said in 2 Corinthians that Holy Spirit led giving is what is fully supplying the needs of the saints. (not tithing) Tithing is no longer a law, commandment, expectation, requirement, principle or anything else. It is gone and done away with. Levi is dead. In this New Covenant we are to share all things and there are MANY scriptures which back this up. There are no New Covenant scriptures to back up tithing. There are no scriptures to back up “money” tithing. Tithing was always 10% of crops, herds, and flocks. Why? Because it is what was used for the temple offerings and sacrifices. Levi was allowed to partake of it, as was the widows, orphans and aliens in the land. That’s why Malachi said bring the whole tithing into the storehouse so there will be meat in the house (for sacrifices) and see if God will not open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing that there will be no more need.
Friends, Jesus brought that New Covenant blessing into being. He was what was represented by the tithes and sacrifices. He put us in right standing with God, then the Father opened up the windows of heaven and poured out the Holy Spirit by whom we are blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places! Ephesians 1:3 and Titus 3:4-6. Brothers and Sisters, tithing is dead and gone. It had it’s time and place. Let’s move on in the grace of God and show His love by being cheerful, generous givers – led by the Holy Spirit!
Bruce, I don’t see your post and I am not going back and forth between email and here. Abraham had nothing to do with the Law. When he went after Lot and defeated the kings, the King of Sodom wanted to give all spoils to Abraham but Abraham said no lest you would boost that you made Abraham rich. Abraham did give a tenth of all he owned to Melchizedek when He (for it was Jesus) came bringing bread (I am the bread of life) and wine (my blood I freely shed for your salvation). So just to be blunt: IF you go to church or your get your church off the net or TV; you are just a taker; now if you are not doing any, but you read your Bible daily and pray and ask and seek you have mixed Law and Grace for you are NOT God unto yourself. Paul admonished the Churches for not giving (yes to the poor, Jerusalem, but a worker is worthy of their hire so some how the pastor-teacher gets treasure of some sort to live. No tithe is NOT of the Law never was for it was done BEFORE the Law. Now unless you are a farmer and can bring a bushel of wheat or oats or corn or a pig or a cow to the Church you can sit back, put your feet up, and say See what I did! And I ain’t giving nothin’ back to the ONE Who really gave it to me.
I have been a Christian since October 17, 2009. I am 45 years old (American) and have been listening to Pastor Prince for about 6 weeks now. I have been at peace hearing about the grace of God and how the law and the letter are the devils tool to keep us seperated from God. God is working miracles through Pastor Prince. Hallelujah!! Our sins and the law have been nailed to the cross – we have been redeemed. Amen.

On 3/6/2011,I was invited by my daughter to the chuch she attends,and was was thrown into confusion by what occured.It was the holy communium day and the leader of the church quoted 1st corinthians capter 11 from verse 23 to 32 and explained how one should be absolutely holy before partaking the feast.The standard required was so high I doubte if anyone will qualify.I want you to explain the good news associated with this high requirement and the idea of standing in the way of sinners,because if JESUS loves me, why can’t I DINE with him.Please this a very important topic amongst christians and let me know when it would be dicussed so that I would imform stakeholders I know.

Joseph Prince also has a very good DVD teaching on the Lord’s supper and several other very interesting suggests.
I’m American and started listening to him last summer and do so everyday. I only know of one american pastor who teaches the Gospel of Grace on TV and that’s Andrew Wommack.

I believe we are saved by grace. However, are we sinners saved by grace? Creflo Dollar does not think so. Indeed I have to agree we are “new creatures in Christ” (1 Corinthians 5:17) and thank God for his grace and the perfect work he is doing in us(Philippians 1:6). I John 1:9, Says “If we confess our sins…… This verse I believe is talking about a “relational” type sin which effects our relationship with God not the type of sin That by “grace” was forgiven and “justified” by the blood of Christ.
Perhaps Creflo Dollar addresses the “You are not a sinner saved by grace” in his teaching on Grace? Hmmmmm…

Also, Pas Creflo Dollar and, now Pas Kenneth Copeland are teaching the New Covenant. I believe Pas Gregory Dickow has got it too. This revelation of TRUTH is spreading like a wildfire – Halleluia!! I used to be a member of the Pentecostal/Full Gospel Religion and was a hell-fire Bible thumper. It took me watching Pas Prince 3 times before I knew he wasn’t a heretic & I started seeing GOD as Good God & that HE Loves me & brings Him pleasure to bless me. I got delivered from the Law Nov. 2011 (Whoo-hoo)
Then went to Pas Dollars conference in Cincy 2012 and was shocked!!! He got it!!! It was like he was teaching right from Pas Prince’s “Unmerited Favour” book. And I got the CD to prove it =D
I believe Grace/Love is the spirit of God that is going to be poured out in these ‘last days’.
So be patient, soon there will be a pastor/church near by you.

Remember tho, Our American preachers, Dollar, Copeland, Dickow, and others, ARE just learning. Just like some of us, we were all about the Law, for y-e-a-r-s, and taught the Law more than once a week. You don’t just know everything about this powerful revelation of Grace and able to convey it immediately. I have seen, personally, Pas Dollar grow in this. AND, He will be the First to tell you he doesn’t know it all & that he goofs sometimes. But AT Least he has the courage to say when he is/was wrong. Actually, anyone that will apologize for teaching us wrong on International TV & at his conference is in my eyes one that has Character/Love. There aren’t hardly any pastors that would jeopardise their ministries or money Like That; and you know that. It shows me that He IS after GOD’s own heart (and so are the others).- just give them some time.

Just know this – when you take the Holy Comm, be mindful that Jesus is your redeemer, He died to give you life and life more abundantly, and that taking the bread is partaking the tree of life! Since we have purchased everything on Pastor Prince’s site along with New Creation Church site, I just want to agree with you about tithing. We have Pastor Prince’s Tithing DVDs and as you know they are some years old. Right now, I have been searching your site plus YouTube for a song that the Pastor started to sing at the end of a 3 disk CD–I believe it is on Meditation but now sure. He started “You are the Same, you are the same. You never change……” I do not know the true title but I have found that it is NCC copyright 2006. Any help I would appreciate it; I just must have that song. BTW Harry, your worship songs are so pure and the finest I have ever heard. Tithing for the New Covenant believer? Another thing we must DO to please God? I believe that the New Testament began AFTER the death of Jesus. I can’t find in the New Testament about tithing. The four Gospels have red letterings meaning that Jesus was speaking at the time. So I don’t consider the Gospels to be New Testament. I believe that when Jesus died on the cross He fulfilled the tithing requirement for us. He was lifted up as kind of wave offering. I believe the Old Testament is a shadow of the New Testament. Jesus paid ALL. I believe any giving should be done of free will and not an obligation. For God loves a cheerful giver. I believe that God can sustain a ministry when it’s member’s hearts are filled with gratitude for what Jesus has done for them and the grace of God moving on their hearts to give generously…not of neccessity, but as they purpose in their hearts to give.
Well think back to the period of Grace with Abraham and Abraham tithing to Melchizedek. Granted OT OK, I suppose all those collections that Paul always talked about were not for money. Didn’t somebody say, “the laborer is worthy of his pay”. I do not tithed out of ritual; I tithe and give offerings with such joy it is unbelievable. For 20 years, I felt exactly like you–essentially you are saying 1. God does not need the money; 2. God will supply money when and where it is needed, and 3. giving is personal and solely whatever the individual decides.
Now for the big one that you mentioned: The 4 Gospels don’t matter since Jesus had not died and thus are still part of the Law. You just knocked out every quote that Jesus Himself gave (for He always quoted the Prophets), Jesus when asked about the Law told us the purpose of the Law but then He said what the greatest commandment was. Guess that does not matter either since it is in the Gospels. What about Jesus coming in Grace–not as thoroughly discussed as Paul but still there. Does that logical also mean that the Apostles were under the Law? If so, the whole NT is thrown out except for Paul and Luke; oh yes Mark. Look at the healings Jesus performs: 3 of the greatest were to GENTILES something that the Law would never allow.
The Father nor The Son nor the Holy Spirit ever said that a tenth belongs to them. Abraham tithed where did he get that idea.
Should you enjoy and learn from Pastor Prince then you well know that he spends FAR more time in the OT than the NT. He spends far more time showing the pictures of the Hebrew letters and words; the tenses of the Greeks verbs.
Do you not want to participate in the ministry of your church or youth outreach or homeless or prison or overseas ministries? Who pays for that? The tithe and the offerings (by the way, offerings are from the OT too so if you dont tithe, then you cannot by your own logic give offerings.
But you are absolutely correct in saying the an individual’s heart decides. Now where do we commonly say Jesus lives inside us?
The message I heard on tithing by Joseph Prince clearly stated that you should give, whether tithe or offering, only if you have a “revelation” to do so in recognition of giving first fruits back to God; otherwise we tend to think we are earning something. JP also stresses that tithing should be to your local church where you are “fed”. Andrew Wommack adds that if you are not being fed spiritually you should find another church where you will. We’re finding that we can get about 90% of the Gospel of Grace locally, so we still record and watch JP 6 days a week and we’ve purchased a lot material from JP and also from Andrew Wommack. I’m believing God for a local sheperd who has a full revelation of the gospel of grace and who will lift Jesus up in every sermon like JP and AW do!

You can start by inviting relatives and friends over at your home to watch DVD messages of Pastor Joseph Prince or Andrew Wommack just like when you want to share with them a great movie. When you gather in Jesus’ name (Matt 18:20) He is in your midst. Jesus will call and enable people in your group to become local shepherd, administrator, etc. Later, your group can be registered as a church. Mega churches started as a small bible study group.
Jesus is raising up a new generation, the Benjamin Generation, that will proclaim Grace to the world and your group can play an active role beginning with your community.

Like others who have posted here, I have been a Christian since I was 17 years old and I have to say that I
have learned soooooooooo much from the sermons of JP compared to other church pastors that I have attended including one very well known pastor. This isn’t to say that JP has a lock on pastoring but that he presents his case sooooo clearly that the Bible literally (and finally for me) opens up into an understandable and enjoyable text.
I found this website as I was seeking guidance from JP on fasting. Apparently, he has not provided sermons on the subject in depth but rather suggests that we seek guidance from the Holy Spirit. As such, I will continue my fast that just began today.
If anyone else finds information on the interpretation of fasting by JP, please respond to me. I’d like to know precisely what JP has to teach about it. I began a fast today merely because I was taught about it by previous church groups.
ALSO, DOES ANYONE KNOW…. does New Creation Church accept members in the USA as distant, non resident members of the church? Are all 18,000 members of New Creation Church residents of Singapore ?
Hi, I am a member for NCC but I don’t think we have members from overseas. however, u can call this ur church if u do listen to our broadcasts and stuff from church. Our church don’t really bother with who want to be part of the church, as long as you do not use our church to endorse any own actions.Some churches have been using NCC and Pastor Prince’s name illegally to push actions and products in their own churches. Of cos that would not be nice as even bad practices are credited to us.

You are so right. I have seen similar comments elsewhere in the cyber world that reflected my sentiments exactly. It is like studying the Bible all over again mindful that we are at this side of the cross. I have not come across any JP sermon on fasting, it is not surprising thought; Jesus of course never fast except when He was tempted out in the desert. The 12 disciples never fast when they were in the Lord’s presence and Jesus defended them saying something about being in the presence of the Bridegroom (Mark 2:19). He did however mentioned fasting in a ‘difficult’ situation (the ‘missing’ Mat 17:21), where fasting and praying is placed together and of course it is part of our ‘private’ petition with the Father.

I found out about this blog a few days ago. Nevertheless, I am sending my delayed reply (almost 1 year)… Regarding FASTING, my question is: “Why do you fast and for what purpose?” In the Bible (2Cor13:5) we are admonished to test ourselves, to see if we are in the faith. It is possible that we are doing things due to teachings we received in the past that is not in line with what the bible teaches. There may be some few things that we do and believe because of the teachings we received in the past.
Take for example our understanding and practice on prayer: prayer (simply as prayer) and earnest prayer (praying hard). Pastor Prince has a message on prayer taken from the passages in 1Kings18:30~46 and James5:17&18 concerning the prayer of Prophet Elijah. A comparison of these passages will reveal that what we consider as simple prayer, God calls it earnest prayer and what we consider as earnest prayer, God calls it simple prayer… In fact, we do not have to fast to get what we need from God.
The Father has given us heaven’s best by sending Jesus Christ for us, there is no reason why He will not freely give us all things (Ro 8:32). This means that if God withholds a thing from us: healing, promotion, or a child for the childless couple, these things therefore are of more value than our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Himself also said that our Father in heaven knows that there are things that we need and has given us all things even before we ask of it (Matt 6:8, 31&32).
I am an American, and absolutely agree that Joseph Prince stands far above the crowds of TV preachers. He stands alone, as far as I am concerned. I attended a church for many years that read a lot of teaching by Watchman Nee and Witness Lee, two very deep Chinese Bible preachers. Until Joseph Prince, I could find no other preachers that I felt could touch their level. As one who is thoroughly familiar with the writings of Witness Lee, I have a strong belief that Joseph Prince has been a reader of his work as well, there are many topics where they have a similar understanding. I have not been able to confirm that, however.

I feel your pain brother! I can’t find a church here in Pensacola Florida either that preaches a grace-based message! Now that I have the revelation of God’s grace and being a New Testament believer, I find it very frustrating going to church. Because what is being taught is so law and sin conscious. A then not to mention when it’s tithing time there. They wear poor ol Malachi out!…Will a man rob God?…you know the rest of the story. But anyway, it’s like a don’t want to go to church anymore because of the performance based messages! You know what I’ll do??!! LOL I’m gonna start my own church! LOL…No seriously. I’m reprogramming my mind now and equiping myself with the grace message and it’s truths. Because I know I’m gonna get a LOT of objections and I want to be knowlegeable enough to present to Gospel of grace skilfully! Pray for me!

Remember, the “Church” is NOT a building, denomination, site, tent, camp. It is PEOPLE in whom Jesus the Holy Spirit has His residence. In Orlando FL, we have not found such either; while there are a few churches we would attend only one streams 2 Sunday morning services every week; thus we can participate and worship but can also become part of the online ministry of the Church.
But it only gives a glimpse as to Who God IS and How much He loves us.
Now I am a Partner level with JPM and have now almost purchased every dvd package (not the single sermons) and music tape offered. Takes awhile to save on a lot of them especially when the crash here left us broke and with only SDI, but in the last 4 years we have missed a tithe, or food or Christmas for our grandchildren. It just “sort of” happens. I rabble.
Here is what we do: Should Sunday’s message not be what we need nor hunger for nor what the Spirit wants us to hear, we pull out a DVD or CD and just rest while listening. We especially enjoy the messages on Jesus in the OT (Aleph Tav, Hebrew letters). When I studied Hebrews more years ago than Prince has been alive, if they had only realized this I might have taken the 2d semester.
One more thing: we ALWAYS get the special, usually a CD, each month. We tend to keep the 3 disks on Meditation in the car since in Orlando, to get anywhere alive you drive either back streets or change times due to ever so slow in traffic. Thought Boston and NYC were bad–come to Orlando.
But give that a try. Then after your family has seen or heard each one at least 3 times, then start inviting friends and neighbors who either don’t have a Savior, or is has never been introduced to Grace (which was my state until 4 years ago). Make it a brunch were you supply the coffee and tea and each brings something. We are finding our conversations after are lasting longer and more are staying.

Jared, you may find, as we, that there are some almost a large percent that simply cannot give up the Law. People in the States even march, petition, pass laws to get the Ten Commandments displayed. This is the power of the Law when it captures and chokes you to death. Why not fight for this phrase to be displayed: And the greatest of these is Love. Or even if you “must” have the Law, the post, The greatest commandment is to Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, will all your spirit. But we humans seem to demand something to touch or point to in order to call it “from God”
Well, point to people like me: never forget the words: November 15, 2004 (notice 4), the doctors, specialists at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, yes the one that takes up several blocks and people from all over the world come to. But on this date, in a room alone with just them, they told that I had 12 maybe 18 MONTHS to live. I had lost 62% capacity in my lungs and the fumes that had been breath would slowly dissolve the rest.
It has been 8 years now! My wife and I take Holy Communion and she anoints me with oil. As of today, I still live! Of course there are restrictions but they never really started until last year (24/7 oxygen never to go beyond my 75 ft air tubing. But my point is I LIVE not by man, for what really is he, but by the Grace and indwelling of the Holy Spirit of Jesus. And I shall live until that day when I just slip into His arms.
I am in Austin, Tx and am having the sam problem. I have been listening to Pastor Prince for almost 3 years and have learned so much about GRACE. I am having a really hard time attending the non-denomination church that is supposedly Grace-based, but is actually a mixture of law and Grace. I have thought of having people over to watch Pastor Prince on dvd with me, but that is not a possibility (sorry, I am unable to explain – but please trust me). Do you know of any church here that preached like Pastor Price? Thanks for a quick reply.

I need some help on the teachings of Joseph Prince. In his book, he explains that our sins are forgiven through Jesus Christ… past, present, and FUTURE…. by grace. Can someone help me understand how the concept of God’s Grace handles suicide among his believers? Has Joseph Prince ever taught a sermon on suicide? Most Christian churches teach that suicide is a sin and that believers risk (or guarantee) hell for that act. Yet, the promise of God’s grace forgives us for all FUTURE sins. So, I don’t understand.
Anonymous: I’m going respond to your question with another question and hopefully both our questions will stimulate some dialogue among readers. Why is suicide traditionally viewed as a sin that sends even Christians to hell? What scriptures are used to support this interpretation?
Incidentally, it was not JP who first said all our sins were forgiven – it was the apostles Paul (Col 2:13), Peter (2 Pe 1:9) and John (1 Jn 2:2), all of whom were no doubt mindful of Jesus’ own prophecy in Mk 3:28. More here and here. But I agree that JP has done a great job reminding us of this wonderful truth.
It’s simple really. There is NO unpardonable sin that will indict a believer. No scripture in the Bible ever hints on suicide being an unpardonable sin. We are forgiven for all our sins. If you commit suicide, you will still be in heaven in Jesus’s arm.
However, you would have completely missed out on God’s plan for your life. all his grace and mercies that are meant for your life are in vain. Maybe you have family members who are to be saved if you did not commit suicide. Maybe you have achievements that bring more people to Christ if you have not died. That is why people who understand grace will never commit suicide. Because they know God’s grace will bring them out of anything. all things work together for our good. I hope this answer your question.:)

I was taught that suicide was a sin that was unpardonable because you were unable to repent of it after committing it. It didn’t make too much sense to me then, but it certainly doesn’t make sense now that I have a revelation of God’s Grace and that we are forgiven of all sins: past, present and future. That happened 2000 years ago when Jesus died on the cross. 1 John 1:9 was used as the supporting Scripture. If you believed that you had to repent in order to be forgiven, it still didn’t stand to reason that a person could not repent before taking his last breath.
Suicide and other sins for that matter can destroy your life. Just like taking drugs can lead to premature death. If you believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross and believe that He took on the punishment for all your sins…then its true for every sin…including suicide.
I may be going a little off topic here but I am drawn to what causes someone to commit suicide in the first place. What causes them to be in such despair and hopelessness that the only answer appears to be to end it all. They must not have known that they were forgiven. They couldn’t possibly have known how much God loves them. Surely they didn’t know they were accepted in the Beloved. What might have been the outcome if they knew of the Grace of God?

that probably most people do not understand nor ever will while on planet earth. That despair, though, is waking up each and every day of one’s life and feeling lonely, alone, lost, friendless, and cornered in a life made even harsher by events that one cannot control. Whether it is biological or a learned despair, I can only say that you would not understand the emotion by reading about it or talking with people about it. When a person says he looks forward to death, as my best friend says, you know that the emotion is deep within him.
I might add about my friend: he has prayed for the Lord to rescue him from his stated troubles over many years.

I want to add something else for perhaps another way to understand: I am manic depressive. Have been since age 6 … I still take medicine and I still get sad. I do not feel sorry for myself nor the limited life I have now. I just look at it now that at long last I can read, watch good DVDs of Bible Studies including Prince, and write. Now I have found you and Paul and savedbygrace and at last I have humans to talk with. For I do not see humans unless I go to the food market once a week. I am tied to a 75 foot air hose that my grandchildren are extra careful with as the oldest as told the next who told the next who told the next that MePaw breathes with that. Chris, you are saying what is the bottomline instead of this rambling: the bottomline is would I have been in Heaven had I fired that gun in 1985? Oh yes, even though I had no seen the inside of a church for 15 years. But Chris, you know what I would have missed? Popcorn!
Seriously too, my sweet wife who puts up with me since 1989 my special “favor” from the Father and the Son; and I would have missed 4 stair-steps kids who listen to my Uncle Remus, Mark Twain, Neverending Story, and Hinds Feet on High Places stories. They know them all by heart now so a piece of myself is planted as is the seed, even to the 3 yr old, that one day will spring up and see Jesus.

Hi, Chris. It’s really simple. Christians are dead to the law. The law is what shows us sin. If we are dead to it, we have no relationship to it (if we are dead, you see, just like a dead person in the natural, we aren’t affected by laws). This is one reason sin is not imputed to us. We are dead, and raised with Christ. So, if we have no relation to the law, how would we know about sin, to even repent?
The God of creation will judge rightly! And He loves to give out blue ribbons – for judging does not have to imply a penalty….and this is good news. Especially for believes. He will not lose any of His sheep.

If repentance is required, then we are still a works based faith. Scripture shows us that we will all fall short of His glory. It is only through His grace that we are saved. If we accept that suicide is a damning sin, what’s next? Kissing before marriage? What about foul language? The only sin that can damn us to Hell is not accepting Christ as our Savior. Nothing else. I don’t believe we can lose Salvation. That takes away the gift of His grace. I am leading a men’s ministry to show men that we are to grow up and be men out of responsibility, not fear of Hell.
One aspect of suicide as a sin that I always heard was that it was “murder” as in “murder” of self.
So, this again confuses me as to the concept of God’s grace because if our sins are already forgiven for the FUTURE, that would include someone who engaged in murder or murder of self / suicide.
In fact, in JP’s book, he states that asking for the forgiveness of sin “cheapens” grace as the forgiveness has already been granted at the cross.
I cannot understand how someone might murder another and then, without requesting forgiveness in prayer, be granted forgiveness through grace.
But, my main curiosity was suicide. So, we both have heard it taught that it either is an unpardonable sin due to the victim being unable to request forgiveness or that the act itself is “murder of self.”
a person who truly lives in God’s word and God’s grace will NOT commit murder. For law is the strength of sin(1 Cor. 15:56). Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound(Romans 5:20). God went as far as to call the law “ministry of death”(2 Cor. 3:7). Bondage is the result of a wrong relationship to the law. A rebel who hates the law has a wrong relationship to the law. Naturally the law will bind him as a slave to serve sin. The legalist also has a wrong relationship to the law. The doctrine of salvation by means of sincere obedience to the law is the worst kind of antinomianism. The man who holds this doctrine is a debtor, and sin will get permission from the law to stir up all kinds of evil passions in him.
If a person has the heart to murder another cold-bloodly, he is certainly not under grace. I would doubt that the person even know Jesus, or truly believe, even if he claims so.If you think about it, in the old testament under law, wars were fought and people were murdered. abraham killed and won wars to save his nephew Lot. King David fought wars and possibly killed his fair share as well. Is it an unpardonable sin? For humans, we have every right to jail or execute a murderer, but for God, a murderer who turned to Him for forgiveness, is forgiven based on Jesus’s work. Look at David, he was still under God’s mercies as he turn to the lord.
I believe you may be taking JP’s comments out of context. What he meant was that there are churches who insist that every sin committed must be confessed before God can forgive you. This is putting people under law because we are forgiven not based on our confessions but based on God’s knowledge of our sins all punished on Jesus’s body. “In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace”(Ephesians 1:6-7).
Going deeper into the Bible, the word ‘sin’ appears as a noun in the book of Romans at all times. The only time it is a verb is in Romans 6:1 – “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?” – which is spoken by Paul’s critics at that time, not the sin (noun) that Paul was preaching about. The action of ‘sinning’ in verb is what Paul’s critics are accusing Paul of preaching. However, Paul always mention sin as a noun – a singular sin of not accepting and believing Christ, the ONLY sin that Jesus will ever indict the world of. If you failed in this one sin, you failed in all.
If you look back at Garden of Eden, adam failed in one sin – turning to law, which is typified in the name: Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. adam turned to the law, and not God who is the tree of life. Ultimately, just know that believing Jesus alone is enough. Not our law keeping, not our works.
The Bible is very consistent in these themes of forgiveness and grace. In stories of the prodigal son, woman in adultery, woman suffering from blood condition, the lepers, Peter rejecting Jesus – none of them kept the law. all failed. But Jesus gave grace to all who believe. “For in the gospel God’s righteousness is being revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, “The righteous will live by faith.” (Romans 1:17) Remember, faith to faith. not faith to works. Not faith to law. Simply faith in Jesus.

Anonymous, there is no imputing of sin where there is no law. That ended at the cross. We are forgiven, past, present, and future. All. Period. Transgressions wiped out. With no law to transgress, there is no guilt, no need for further forgiveness. It is finished. We can’t call anything a sin without a law to define it. That’s what grace is.
I am an American whose life was changed by reading Joseph Prince’s book, Destined to Reign, back in 2007. I thank God for his gift! A Christian goes to heaven not based on his tithes, not based on his works, not even based on his reading of the bible. Simply call to the lord and you shall be saved.
That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. it is very simple.

I won’t pass judgment on Judas or anyone for that matter. But I’m not at all certain that Judas had a revelation Jesus died on the cross to redeem him. Why not? (a) It hadn’t happened yet and (b) Judas’s actions are entirely inconsistent.
Let’s rightly divide the word. 1) When Judas committed suicide, Jesus has not died for all our sins. It was before the cross. His pride, that he couldnt forgive himself, cost him to kill himself before Jesus’s death could have redeemed him. Moreover, the very fact he killed himself shows his lack of revelation, that Jesus has forgiven his sin. He did not have the faith.
2) He never believe that Jesus was the son of God, because in the last supper, while the other disciplines called Jesus “Lord, who shall betray you?”, only Judas said “Rabbi, who shall betray you?”. To Judas, Jesus is just a rabbi, a teacher, not the LORD. There are many who believe in Jesus in this world – that he is an example to follow, that he is a historical figure, that he shaped religion, that he is a teacher – but none of them believe he is God. Praise the Lord that the fullest of his power is in the church, that is us, and we know him as our Lord and saviour.

Last supper… everyone got wet, including Judas. Jesus knew JI would betray but still washed his feet. Even told Peter ‘unless I wash you, you will have no part in me, [though] you are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.’ (Jn 13:8, 15:3)
Much as God sent Jesus–his ‘love gift’ for salvation–only those who believe will have eternal life. Judas simply didn’t accept the word which could save him. (Jas 1:21)

At the time of the suicide of Judas, Jesus had not yet been crucified THEREFORE the New Covenant of Blood and Grace had been given.
And therefore since the New Covenant had not yet been given, JUDAS WAS STILL UNDER THE LAW!
NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! (Gerry’s right, though) Salvation is NOT based on when a person lived with respect to when Christ died! God revealed the gospel of grace to everyone, including to Adam and Eve. Salvation is based on trusting in one’s heart (and not just in one’s mind) the Covenant of Love (Grace) that Jesus completely fulfilled: “He is good; His love endures forever!” This amazing promise of grace, this seed, this Word, must come alive in your heart – be born in you…in order for you to be born again. And for that to happen, the soil must be right (broken) and the seed must be pure (good) and usually the seed must come repeatedly (be sewn/confessed, Romans 10:17,10:9-11). Don’t y’all even know what His name of “LORD” means? Anyone who placed/places their faith in The Promise of LORD, their faith was/is in God’s Grace, in Jesus alone (e.g. Psalm 136).
If Judas “went to heaven” after he fell into the poor man’s burial area and split open, then why did Jesus say not only did He know who the traitor was but “it would have better, if he (Judas) had never been born!.
Now if that is not condemnation (from which we, the Believer, have no more) spoken by Christ Himself, I most certainly do not want to hear the Father on Judgement Day when all stand before Him and basically, I think, asks only one question: What did you do with My Beloved Son, Jesus Christ?” People may have excuses, a long list of charity, high recommendations from every religious leader on the planet, BUT if he has NOT Grace, if he has not Jesus in residence; The Father will simply say, Depart from me for I never knew you”.
And in short, Judas is dead and the Believer will never see him.
Rick, I was not judging Judas’ salvation (I hope his spiritual state is obvious to all!). My point is that Grace is not bound by time or anything else. Otherwise, Abraham, David, the prophets, etc. could not be saved, and yet according to the New testament, we know they are.
Yes Cart I completely agreed with and understood your post. I sort of, just for my fun with the Bible, divide it into 4 Covenants: Creation/Garden (God Himself), Abraham (Grace “shadowed”? maybe), The Law (Death and Loss), Grace. Only God the Great 3-in-1 knows the time in between or how long each lasted until The Son of God stood up from the throne and came bringing Grace and the final, forever Covenant.

The first word in the Hebrew Bible is Elohim, the Great 3in1 God. Yes GRACE has been going a long time now:Adam, Abram, Sarai, Job, Jabez, Ruth (the alien unclean), Rahab (the whore) Esther, Boaz, David, The Roman Commander, the woman at the well during the day (another “that kind of woman”), the thief at the Cross. To me, the only difference is that GRACE is now magnified, spread throughout the world for all to take. And yet in each and every person in the OT who received GRACE, acted EXACTLY like we do today and WE have the advantage of looking back, the advantage of the whole Word; they but hoped; and each did some bad stuff; but each had to come back to the Father and humble himself with tears. David lost a son and another became a Rebel. Yet he sang for the Father and the Son and the Spirit.
Oh yes, GRACE has been here all the time; it is only now that GRACE is finally being exploded to God’s Church and the Bride of Christ!
Also, the Holy spirit was not yet given because Jesus was not yet glorified (Jn 7:39, Jn 20:20-22 = Gen 2:7).
My friend is a 30 years born again he is filled with the Holy spirit but from the time he followed Joseph Prince he changed, he was unfaithful to his wife, he lies, he is now foul mouthed and lives in sin, lust of the eyes, mind, porno.So I ask now if the teaching of Joseph Prince license to sin..God bless

If indeed your friends followed Pastor Joseph Prince and his teachings, I think your friends took a wrong turn at some intersection and did not follow Pastor Prince all the way. Pator Prince is not known to be unfaithful to his wife, Wendy. He is not known to lie, not foul mouthed, (whether he lives in sin, have lust of the eyes / mind – only God knows, although his fruits would surely reveal those things that are hidden and I am happy to say that his fruits are good and confirmed by worldwide following) and not known to watch porno. He remains humble while he is now famous worldwide…
1) Falling into sin does not mean living in sin. A person may sin but is not a sinner. He is a sinner because of Adam “that by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners (Ro 5:19)”. A person drives but he is not a driver. However, there are those who work as drivers. Your friends can be considered as drivers (sinners) and do not only drive (commit sin). Driving (sinning) is their occupation. Their sinning negates the redemptive work of Christ “that by one man’s obedience many were made righteous (Ro5:19)”.
2) For your friends to be sinning but they claim to be under grace is absurd. If a person is under grace, sin has no dominion over him (Ro6:14). This means that if one is in or worse, living in sin, he is not under grace but under the law and his claim of being under grace is just another lie. For one in sin, another lie does not hurt. Jesus said that the devil is a liar and the father of lies (Jn8:44). In fact, the sinning person is not under grace but under law. The bible declares that the sting of death is sin and the strength of sin is the law (1Cor15:56).

My husband and his adulterer is now attending NCC. We are still married and he committed adultery without guilt and quoted God’s Grace is above all! does that mean that God understand he needs a new love? and God’s Grace will cover all these? then why did the bible in Matthew talk about sin in adultery? Why Revelation talk about Judgement Day? for the prebelievers? read again Word of God meant also the believers who sin..
God’s Grace give us the empowerment not to sin but many were misled into giving excuses for their sin and have no guilt over their sin. I have been listening to Joseph Prince for about four years now. It all started early one morning when I couldn’t find my remote to change the channel. As I was searching he was teaching of the Ark of the Covenant. After that I started waking up JUST so I could hear his teachings. I have now read, listened and watched many teachings from Pastor Prince and all I can tell you really is that once I was blind but now I see… I can’t stop seeing Jesus in everything around me. THIS does NOT make me want to sin. I fill so full of His love and UNmerited favor that it just produces in me such an overflow that I want to share that. NOT do wrong.

Obviously God created woman for a reason. To think that any man would make that statement when He’s married is funny. I would say as in genesis that when a man and woman become one his wisdom increases since he has a partner to help him now who is made in the image and wisdom of God. I’m not even married yet but I would say (actually in Christ I am his bride) wisdom is added to you just like when you are married to Christ he is all these things (1 Cor 1:30). Sometimes Abraham should listen to his wife lol (Gen 21:9-12).

Hello Anne my name is Jared and I think I might qualify to answer your question because at one time in my life I was “your husband”. I had the same struggles. My advice to you is simple. Let God be the best at what He does…and that is BEING GOD! You have no control over your husband’s behavior. By you being a BELIEVER (not saying your husband is not), BELIEVE in Jesus’ unmerited favor for your husband to fall in love with Jesus. Then patiently wait!

Just searching the internet and found this blog.I belong to a word of faith church which teaches balance.In listening to Joseph Prince I did find a freedom.I was always afraid I was missing it somehow.So to make a long story short my husband got cancer I believed God for his healing and after 2 years he passed.:( I am so confused now and having a extremely hard time with this I cant read or pray if I read the word I start crying because I see all that I stood on.I dont know how to get to the next place.I didnt just get on the faith bus either.I have had success before in believing.Any suggestions? I feel as if I am in limbo here.I will also lose my home since we had no life insurance to cover us.If anyone has a reply it would be much appreciated.
Dear Sandy, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Sadly, I know only One person who had 100% success rate praying for the sick and it’s not me. I too have lost loved ones to cancer. I have friends with long track records of amazing healing miracles who have also lost family to cancer and other diseases. I know people who have raised the dead who have lost loved ones. The fact is we’re not winning all the battles even though, in Christ, we have won the war. Please don’t feel any pressure to move on as though you have to rise up and shine. There is a time for grieving. Jesus wept. He is Lord in your time of limbo. Feel free to dump all your thoughts and feelings on Him. If you’re angry and upset , tell Him. He is your loving Father and He can take it. We live in the valley of the shadow of death but He is here with us to comfort us.

Hello im working in Saudi and i have many friends who tries to share the bible to us. I believe the word but what makes me sad is that this guys who share to us is so full of pride, and has relationship with women here in saudi.We know he is married but he takes home women to his flat. How can we ask him if he is just using the word to us just to make believe he has revelation from God and he is special person.Im confuse cause many share the word but you cant see nor feel the presence of God in their life.I need to hear how long will a person change from the start he is reading the bible.
Lets not get the cart before the horse. It has always been repentance then Grace. And Grace is not a license to sin. Thank God Grace covers all our sin after we repent and accept Christ and His blood as the covering for our sin. I think you have written in err. It’s always grace THEN repentance. Look at Peter, he confess to Jesus, “Depart from me, I am a sinful man” AFTER Jesus gave him a boat sinking load of fishes.
Look at the prodigal son, he wanted to go back to the father because he felt that even the servants “have food and clothes to spare” and that he “wants to earn his keep”. It’s not true repentance. However, when the son was still FAR OFF, the grace of the father RAN and KISS the boy. Again, grace before repentance.
Look at the rule young ruler vs Zacchaeus. The ruler boasted in his law keeping, but when Jesus gave him the law, he couldn’t even give up one cent. Look at Zacchaeus, Jesus gave no law, but DINE at his house. Only grace was given. By the end of the meal, Zacchaeus repented. Again, Jesus gave him grace to dine with him BEFORE he repented.
The lady with 6 men in her life, came to Jesus by the well. She didn’t repent, she simply talked to Jesus and Jesus gave her GRACE by imparting to her. After the grace was given, she ran off and glorfied Jesus’ name around the town, no longer condemned by her past. Again, grace before repentance.
Look at the woman caught in adultery, Jesus said: “Is there NO ONE who condemns you?” She said “No man.” Then Jesus said: “Neither do I condemn you, GO and sin no more.”
The church got it in reverse: Pastors say “I give you forgivenenss and grace after you sin no more”. Jesus on the other hand, gave GRACE and forgiveness BEFORE true repentance happens. He gave grace and that EMPOWERS the woman to repent and sin no more.
We must know our recieving of grace is not dependent on our repentance but dependent on HIS goodness and grace that transform us as we behold his glory. Remeber, only grace can change sinful men into the image of Jesus, simply by us beholding his glory.
The goodness of God leads to repentance (Rom 2:4), not the other way around. Faith and repentance are two sides of the same coin. Faith (or repentance) doesn’t move God to forgive us. Faith is always a positive response to something God has done. Jesus said “repent and believe the good news.” If you are an unbeliever, you cannot become a believer without first changing your mind. Repentance, by definition, is a change of mind. Regarding what Jesus said to the Laodiceans, please see my post here.

Firstly, preaching grace is not saying – “It’s ok to sin”. That’s the problem. People think grace means you giving people liscence to sin. However, that is far from the truth.
Let me tell you how to stop people from sinning. Read this verse – “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under grace.” 6:14 Romans
Think about it, is preaching grace, like you said, telling people to sin? of cos not. Preaching grace empowers people to sin NO MORE. Until we realized the power of god’s grace over all sin, we will never overcome sin.
Grace is not saying sin is good. Grace is saying – God hates sin but God love the sinner. So God send his son to die for our sins. Now you are forever clean and righteous apart from your works. Simply by knowing your place in God’s love empowers you to sin no more.
Paul, is J.P. preaching that a person can come to Christ without repentance and he or she can continue to live in adultery, fornication, sodomy, drunkard, lying, stealing etc, without ever repenting. I believe that once a person has truly trusted Christ as their Savour they are forgiven and given eternal life. But The Bible does not teach that we can live like dogs and wallow like hogs after we are saved. The prodigal son repented and we don’t read of his return to the hog pen.
There are two separate issues here: (1) What is repentance? (2) What empowers me to overcome sin? The answers are (1) a change of mind and (2) grace alone. I agree with JP’s view that what this world does not need is more preaching on repentance. Preaching on repentance doesn’t lead to repentance. If I told you, “Phillip, change your mind! Come on, change your mind!” you would be confused. “Change my mind in regard to what?” In the old covenant people turned from sin. That’s one kind of repentance but it certainly won’t save you. The Pharisees turned from sin to religious pride and Jesus called them sons of hell. I have more than 250 words to say so I might write a post about this.
I don’t think you understand what ‘repentance’ means in your ENGLISH Bible translation, which is not inspired. In fact, where that word REPENTANCE comes from in the original Greek text is called metanoia in the Greek. In other words, you’ve been taught that ‘repentance’ is a work or some kind of physical expression to suggest that you ‘feel sorry’ for what you’ve done wrong.
However, the Greek word metanoia means, ‘to change your mind.’ If you can ‘repent’ or in the case of how you are presenting it here…if you can change your WRONG behavior, then you don’t need Jesus at all. If in your own strengths and ability and efforts, you can rid your life of ‘wrong behavior’ then there is no purpose for Jesus’ death.
In fact, that’s PURE self righteousness right there. Where pastor prince differs from other preachers…like Paul..is that at the core of wrong behavior in the life of a believer is a wrong belief or believing that your sins are still held against you or that the Lord condemns you with every ‘fresh new sin’ in the NOW that was already punished over 200 years ago.
The Lord is not impressed with your wallowing and woe is me attitude when a new sin is committed. And unfortunately, many people do not understand where the WORD REPENT, in your English translated Bible, comes from. Its the original Hebrew & Greek texts that are inspired. Not our English or any other language translation editions that are inspired.
the bible says shall we continue in sin that grace may abound,nay God forbid.why should we appear before the throne of grace,so we can obtain mercy to cleanse us from our sins and so we can find grace to help us in the time of need.
It is more than changing my mind, it is turning from my sin to God. Read Hebrews 12. If you can continue to wallow in sin, the Bible says you are bastards and not sons.That means you are illegitimate. When my earthly father whooped me I said I am sorry daddy.
So you think that because your natural father beat you that God will beat you? And anyone who isn’t beaten isn’t a son? That’s a truly perverse interpretation of Heb 12:7 – “If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?” I hate to think of the damage that’s done to some Christians. Chastening means “child training” not whooping. It’s the same word translated as “instruction” in 2 Tim 3:16.
Hebrews 4 :16 has nothing to do with cleansing of sin, lets keep it context please. I can show you a similar verse though.

Your sins are a done deal beloved!! Jesus cried out “It is finished” in His last moments on the cross. The writers of the original Greek text used the word ‘tetelestai’ which, interestingly, in their day, was used as an accounting term which would have been marked on invoices, meaning, literally, “paid in full”, i.e., account reconciled, debt paid, or cancelled.The Lord is a debtor to no one, and trust me he pays in full. I’ve never heard of a broke King, and he is King of kings beloved. Our fathers perfect payment was His Son Jesus Christ, and Our father doesn’t pay half way.
GOD’S WORD® Translation (Rom 6:23): “The payment for sin is death, but the gift that God freely gives is everlasting life found in Christ Jesus our Lord.” The gift can be given because he paid in full, similar to when someone buys their children a gift from a toy store. If they try to leave without full payment it’s considered stealing.
New Living Translation (John 10:10): “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” He gave His life as a ransom for all, and a ransom paid in full (Mark 10:45).
