You’ve got mail: Letters from Jesus, out today!

Last Friday I picked up a book containing the most important letters ever written. The letters had been penned by all sorts of historical figures. Yet the book contained no letters from Jesus. Not one. I can’t say I was surprised. Most people don’t know that Jesus sent letters.

Do you know that the Son of God sent letters from heaven?

The letters from Jesus may be the most important letters you ever read. How strange then, that many don’t know they exist, and those who do are afraid of them. Which is a shame, because the letters from Jesus are spectacular!

My new book, Letters from Jesus: Finding Good News in Christ’s Letters to the Churches, comes out today.

Why did I write it? I wrote so that you may know that God is good and he loves you far more than you can possibly imagine. Whether you’re a saint or a sinner, a success or a loser, his love for you is unfathomable. The hypergrace gospel that was revealed in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ is brilliantly displayed in his letters.

“But Paul, his letters are full of scary language.” So is the Bible, yet you read that and are encouraged by it. Just as we need to rightly divide scripture, there is a right way and a wrong way to read the letters from Jesus. In my book I explain the difference.

“But Jesus is terrifying in his letters. He’s got fiery eyes and swords.” Then allow me to show you how the seven portraits of Jesus found in his letters are glorious pictures of a King who loves you. And they are unique, for they are found nowhere else in scripture.

“But his letters were sent to other people. They are not for me.” You could say the same thing about the letters from Paul, Peter, and John. If you have been blessed by the letters to the Romans and Philippians, you can expect to be blessed by the letters to the Ephesians and Laodiceans. They are full of treasures.

My mission, this Christmas, is to deliver the mail. I want to see that you get what’s coming to you, which is Very Good News straight from the heavenly throne of grace.

It’s Good News such as the world barely knows.

It’s Good News that brings great joy to those who receive it.

You can find Letters from Jesus on the Kindle store. You can also get it in other ebook formats (PDF, ePub, and Mobi) here. (The paperback comes out next Easter.)

Grab a copy of Letters for yourself and gift one to your pastor, your mom, your Sunday School teacher, and anyone else who needs some Good News this Christmas.

Happy Christmas, and Happy Reading!

Paul

  1. Downloaded on Kindle today and really looking forward to Christmas now! Love the first line of the Endorsements “Paul Ellis is a provocative writer because he writes stubbornly about a provocative subject: grace.”………. LOL! Just like Jesus then! 🙂

    • I’m glad you like it. I have to say I didn’t know how to feel when I first read that. I guess some people think I’m provocative and a stirrer, but I don’t mean to be. I really don’t. Well, not most of the time.

  2. I just bought it on Kindle. Better be good! 😉

  3. Awesome informative invitation letter about Letters! Get it, everyone!

  4. Hey Paul, almost half way through it and loving it so far! I’ll write a positive review once I’m finished. Are you wanting to write anything on the rest of Revelations? That’d be a great sequel!

  6. How can get this book am from Nigeria

    • As far as I understand, people in Nigeria and other parts of West Africa are not in the habit of buying books online for two reasons: (1) few people have credit cards, (2) book stores like the Book Depository and Amazon do not ship to Nigeria. Is this correct?

I just finished this book on my kindle. It was so freeing and caused me to fall even more in love with Jesus!
I highly highly recommend this book. After reading this, all I want to do is to go and share the gospel, and by the grace of God, I cannot stop telling people about Jesus everywhere I go.
    Psalm 110:3 says,
“Your people will offer themselves freely on the day of power, in Holy garments.”
This is so true. Anyone who experiences the love and compassion of Jesus seen in these letters to the early church will truly be set free from sin, and experience the joys of giving up our lives and receiving His life.
Paul Ellis obviously did a lot of research on the early church, and their testimonies of standing boldly and courageously in the face of horrible persecution was so inspiring.
They were only able to do that by the marvelous grace of God and because they had fallen madly in love with Jesus. I believe the reason that they fell madly in love with Jesus is because they first had a revelation of His incomprehensible love for them and for the world.
I am so excited for the fruit of this book in my life already, and for the healing and freedom those who read it are going to receive.
Thank you for writing this. I am excited for the hard copy and going to send it to as many people as I can.
