You’re an enigma wrapped in a rootin-tootin’ riddle. When you shine, the world is dazzled.
And one area where Americans truly shine is in their generosity. No other nation gives more.
Today in America, it is “Giving Tuesday.”
I don’t have any experience with this tradition, and my American readers may want to correct me if I’ve got it wrong, but it doesn’t seem complicated. On the first Tuesday in December, you give.
You give time, resources, yourself and the world becomes a little kinder and more generous.
Brilliant.

Giving Tue is a fairly new phenomenon, 2012–I just looked that up, that came on the heels of cyber Monday. We also have small business Saturday. Wed is still up for grabs, although if you back up to the Wed before Thanksgiving usually is the busiest travel day of the year. So from Wed to Tue around Thanksgiving is pretty much covered.

To elaborate on what Geraldine said, we seem to like theme days in the US! So starting with Thanksgiving on Thursday then there’s Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, (Sunday is thankfully untouched), Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday. Also technically it’s not necessarily the first Tuesday in December, just the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving 🙂 No official term for Wednesday but yes it’s the busiest travel day of the year. And haha you’re doing it wrong you’re supposed to ask for money on Giving Tuesday 😉 Thanks for going against the grain!!
